Description
Eggcal-DX 600 mg Tablet, manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., combines Calcium Carbonate derived from European eggshells with Vitamin D₃ (Cholecalciferol) to support bone health. Each film-coated tablet contains 1500 mg of Calcium Carbonate, equivalent to 600 mg of elemental Calcium, and 400 IU of Vitamin D₃. This formulation is designed to enhance calcium absorption and bone mineralization.
Eggshell Calcium is a natural, highly digestible form of calcium with an absorption rate of approximately 98%, surpassing that of other calcium sources like algae, coral, or rock-based calcium. Additionally, it contains essential minerals such as Magnesium, Phosphorus, and Strontium, which contribute to bone development and density. The inclusion of Vitamin D₃ facilitates optimal calcium absorption, promoting strong bones and healthy muscles.
Eggcal-DX is indicated for the treatment and prevention of conditions like osteoporosis, osteomalacia, osteopenia, rickets, hypoparathyroidism, and latent tetany. It is also beneficial during pregnancy, lactation, post-menopause, and in individuals on medications like phenytoin, phenobarbital, or prednisolone that may induce osteoporosis.
The recommended dosage is one tablet in the morning and one at night, or as directed by a physician. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort or constipation, though eggshell calcium is generally well-tolerated. Rare side effects include kidney stones, hypercalcemia, alkalosis, and loss of appetite. Eggcal-DX should be stored in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from light, and out of reach of children.
