Description
Alkalina 600 mg Tablet, manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., contains Sodium Bicarbonate as its active ingredient. It functions as a systemic alkalizer by increasing plasma bicarbonate levels, buffering excess hydrogen ions, and raising blood pH to reverse acidosis. Additionally, it serves as a urinary alkalinizer, enhancing the excretion of bicarbonate ions in urine, thus effectively elevating urinary pH. Alkalina is indicated for the management of metabolic acidosis in conditions such as severe renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes, circulatory insufficiency due to shock or dehydration, and severe primary lactic acidosis. It is also used to alkalinize urine and in the treatment of acidosis during cardiac arrest. The usual oral dosage ranges from 300 mg to 2 grams, taken 1 to 4 times daily, as directed by a healthcare professional.
