Creva 5 mg Tablet, manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., contains Rosuvastatin, a statin medication used to manage high cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It functions by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme, leading to decreased cholesterol synthesis in the liver. This results in lowered levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides, while increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. Creva 5 mg is indicated for conditions such as heterozygous and homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and for the primary prevention of cardiovascular events. The recommended dosage ranges from 5 to 40 mg once daily, depending on the patient's condition and response to therapy. It can be taken with or without food, at any time of the day, but should be taken consistently at the same time each day. Common side effects include headache, muscle pain, abdominal discomfort, and nausea.
