Indications:
Exium MUPS is indicated for treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection (as part of combination therapy).
Pharmacology:
Exium MUPS contains Esomeprazole magnesium, a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells.
Dosage & Administration:
Typical dose: 20 mg once daily, usually before meals.
Tablets should be swallowed whole with water; do not crush or chew.
Interaction:
May interact with clopidogrel, warfarin, ketoconazole, and certain antiretroviral drugs. Monitor for efficacy and adverse reactions.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Esomeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and flatulence. Rarely, vitamin B12 deficiency and magnesium imbalance may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Excreted in breast milk; use caution during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Long-term use may increase risk of fractures and infections. Monitor magnesium and vitamin B12 levels during prolonged therapy.

Storage Conditions:
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
