Indications:
RIVOTRIL is indicated for the treatment of seizure disorders, including absence seizures, myoclonic seizures, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. It is also used for managing panic disorder and anxiety.
Pharmacology:
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. This results in sedative, anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, and muscle-relaxant properties.
Dosage & Administration:

Adults: Usually 0.5 mg to 1 mg per day in divided doses, gradually increased as needed.

Maximum dose: 20 mg/day

Should be taken with or without food as directed by a physician.
Interaction:
Clonazepam may interact with alcohol, opioids, antiepileptics, antidepressants, and antihistamines. Concurrent use may increase CNS depression.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines

Severe liver disease

Acute narrow-angle glaucoma

History of drug or alcohol abuse
Side Effects:
Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, memory problems, coordination issues. Rare: depression, respiratory depression, dependence on long-term use.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Clonazepam passes into breast milk—use with caution under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings:
May cause dependence and withdrawal symptoms. Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Use cautiously in elderly, those with respiratory conditions, and patients with depression.
