NAPROSYN PLUS 500 MG + 20 MG is a combination medication that pairs Naproxen (500 mg), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), with Esomeprazole (20 mg), a proton pump inhibitor. This formulation is designed to provide effective relief from the pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, while simultaneously reducing the risk of developing gastric ulcers—a common side effect of long-term NSAID use.
Naproxen works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemicals in the body that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. Esomeprazole reduces stomach acid production, helping to protect the gastrointestinal lining from potential damage caused by NSAIDs.
The recommended dosage is one tablet taken twice daily, at least 30 minutes before meals. It's important to swallow the tablet whole without splitting, chewing, crushing, or dissolving it
