OBEXA 10 MG is a pharmaceutical product manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing the active ingredient Obeticholic Acid. Obeticholic acid is a potent, selective agonist of the Farnesoid X receptor (FXR), a nuclear receptor involved in bile acid regulation and liver function. This medication is primarily indicated for the treatment of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a chronic liver disease characterized by progressive damage to the bile ducts.
The recommended starting dosage of Obeticholic Acid is 5 mg orally once daily. If an adequate biochemical response is not achieved after 3 months, and the patient is tolerating the medication, the dosage may be increased to 10 mg once daily. The maximum recommended dosage is 10 mg once daily.
Common side effects include fatigue, stomach discomfort, rash, joint pain, mouth and throat pain, dizziness, constipation, swelling in the hands, ankles, or feet, fast or irregular heartbeat, fever, and changes in thyroid function.
