Fastel 180 mg Tablet, manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., contains Fexofenadine Hydrochloride, a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine. It is primarily used to relieve symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the throat or nose. Additionally, Fastel 180 mg is effective in treating chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), characterized by raised, red, itchy welts on the skin. Fexofenadine works by selectively blocking peripheral H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing allergic symptoms without causing significant drowsiness. The medication is rapidly absorbed after oral administration, reaching peak plasma concentrations within 2 to 3 hours, and does not cross the blood-brain barrier, minimizing the risk of sedation. The recommended dosage for adults and children aged 12 years and older is 180 mg once daily, with or without food.
