Feeliz 12.5 mg + 5 mg Tablet, manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., is a combination medication containing Amitriptyline Hydrochloride (12.5 mg) and Chlordiazepoxide (5 mg). Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that works by inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in the brain, thereby alleviating symptoms of depression. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of the neurotransmitter GABA at the GABA-A receptor, producing anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle relaxant effects. This combination is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe depression associated with moderate to severe anxiety. Symptoms likely to respond in the first week of treatment include insomnia, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, agitation, psychic and somatic anxiety, suicidal ideation, and anorexia. The usual starting dosage is 3 to 4 tablets daily, divided into doses, with the larger portion taken at bedtime. The dosage may be adjusted based on individual response and under medical supervision. Common side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, and bloating. Less common side effects may include vivid dreams, impotence, tremor, confusion, and nasal congestion. Feeliz is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either benzodiazepines or tricyclic antidepressants and should not be given concomitantly with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor. Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures, hyperthyroidism, or those on thyroid medication. Regular monitoring is recommended, especially in pediatric and geriatric populations. Feeliz should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light, and out of reach of children.
