Indications:
Coralcal DX is indicated for calcium and vitamin D3 supplementation in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, and calcium deficiency.
Pharmacology:
Coralcal DX contains Calcium Carbonate and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3). Calcium is essential for bone formation and maintenance, while vitamin D3 enhances calcium absorption from the gut.
Dosage & Administration:
Typical dose: One tablet daily or as prescribed.
Should be taken with meals and a full glass of water for better absorption.
Interaction:
May interact with bisphosphonates, tetracycline antibiotics, iron supplements, and certain diuretics. Separate administration timing is recommended.
Contraindications:
Hypercalcemia, hypersensitivity to components, and patients with kidney stones or hypervitaminosis D.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include constipation, gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, and rarely hypercalcemia.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Considered safe during pregnancy and lactation when used as directed.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use caution in patients with kidney disease. Monitor calcium levels during prolonged therapy.
