Butasiv 100 ml Syrup contains Butamirate Citrate, a centrally acting antitussive agent manufactured by Jenphar Bangladesh Ltd.. It is used to suppress dry, non-productive coughs associated with conditions such as viral infections, bronchitis, laryngitis, tracheitis, and whooping cough. Butamirate Citrate works by acting directly on the cough center in the brain, reducing the urge to cough without affecting the respiratory muscles or causing sedation.
The recommended dosage varies by age:
