Description
Dexochol 300 mg Tablet, manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid, a naturally occurring bile acid used to treat various hepatobiliary disorders. It works by reducing the cholesterol saturation in bile, facilitating the dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones. Ursodeoxycholic Acid achieves this by decreasing cholesterol absorption, suppressing liver cholesterol synthesis, and not inhibiting bile acid synthesis. This alteration in bile composition from supersaturated to unsaturated promotes the formation of liquid cholesterol crystal complexes, enhancing the removal of cholesterol from the gallbladder into the intestine to be expelled. Dexochol 300 mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of conditions such as cholestasis (jaundice), viral hepatitis, alcoholic fatty liver, primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), dissolution of gallstones, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
