Indications:
RIVOTRIL is indicated for:

Treatment of absence and myoclonic seizures
-
Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia
-
Management of anxiety disorders
Pharmacology:
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the activity of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, producing anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle relaxant effects.
Dosage & Administration:
-
Adults: Initial dose usually 0.5 mg three times daily; adjusted as per clinical response.

Take with or without food.

Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent withdrawal seizures.
Interaction:
-
Additive CNS depressant effects with alcohol, opioids, and other sedatives.

Caution with other psychotropic drugs.
Contraindications:
-
Hypersensitivity to Clonazepam or benzodiazepines
-
Severe respiratory insufficiency
-
Acute narrow-angle glaucoma
Side Effects:

Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue

Memory impairment, confusion
-
Risk of dependence and withdrawal symptoms
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless clearly needed under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings:

Use lowest effective dose to reduce dependence risk

Avoid driving or operating machinery until effects are known

Monitor for signs of abuse or misuse

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
