Indications:
Coralcal D is indicated for calcium and vitamin D3 supplementation in osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, and calcium deficiency.
Pharmacology:
Coralcal D contains Calcium Carbonate and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3). Calcium is vital for bone structure, while Vitamin D3 enhances intestinal absorption of calcium.
Dosage & Administration:
Typical dose: One tablet daily or as prescribed by physician.
Take with meals and a full glass of water for better absorption.
Interaction:
May interact with bisphosphonates, tetracycline antibiotics, iron supplements, and certain diuretics. Separate administration timing advised.
Contraindications:
Hypercalcemia, hypersensitivity to components, and patients with kidney stones or hypervitaminosis D.
Side Effects:
May cause constipation, gastrointestinal discomfort, and rarely hypercalcemia.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Considered safe during pregnancy and lactation when used as directed.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use cautiously in patients with kidney disorders. Monitor calcium levels during prolonged therapy.
