Description
Xelcom 50 mg Tablet is an antispasmodic medication manufactured by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Its active ingredient, Tiemonium Methylsulphate, functions as a quaternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent. It acts by inhibiting the effects of acetylcholine and histamine, thereby reducing muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, biliary system, urinary bladder, and uterus. This makes it effective in treating conditions such as gastroenteritis, diarrhea, dysentery, biliary colic, enterocolitis, cholecystitis, colonopathies, mild cystitis, and spasmodic dysmenorrhea. The recommended dosage for adults is 2 to 6 tablets daily in divided doses, while for children, it is 3 mg to 6 mg per kg of body weight daily, also in divided doses. Xelcom 50 mg Tablet should be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with certain health conditions. Common side effects may include hypotension and tachycardia, particularly when administered rapidly. It is contraindicated in patients with angle-closure glaucoma or urinary retention disorders. Caution is advised when used in individuals with prostate disorders, chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, or renal and hepatic insufficiency.
