A-Migel 15 gm Oral Gel is an antifungal medication manufactured by ACME Laboratories Ltd., containing Miconazole Nitrate 2% w/w. This gel is primarily used to treat and prevent fungal infections in the mouth and gastrointestinal tract, such as oral candidiasis (thrush) and gastrointestinal candidiasis. Miconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to cell death. The gel is applied directly to the affected area or taken orally, depending on the infection site. For oral candidiasis, a small amount is applied to the mouth 2–4 times daily. For gastrointestinal infections, the dosage is based on body weight, typically 15 mg/kg per day, divided into four doses. Treatment should continue for at least 1 week after symptoms resolve. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Caution is advised when using A-Migel alongside certain medications, as it may interact with drugs metabolized by the cytochrome P450 enzymes. It is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Miconazole. As with all medications, use A-Migel under the guidance of a healthcare professional
