Indications:
LINO-M-500/2.5 MG is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both Metformin and Linagliptin is appropriate.
Pharmacology:
Metformin: Reduces hepatic glucose production and increases insulin sensitivity.
Linagliptin: A DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin levels, thereby increasing insulin release and decreasing glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner.
Dosage & Administration:
Take one tablet once or twice daily as directed by the physician. Should be taken with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Interaction:
May interact with insulin, sulfonylureas, diuretics, corticosteroids, and other antidiabetic agents. Alcohol intake should be limited.
Contraindications:
Renal impairment
Metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis
Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
Side Effects:
Common side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, diarrhea), headache, and nasopharyngitis. Rare but serious side effect: lactic acidosis.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician. Not recommended during lactation.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor renal function regularly. Use with caution in elderly and patients with risk of heart failure. Avoid alcohol consumption.
