Clasrin 10g is a topical cream formulated with 1% clascoterone, an androgen receptor inhibitor developed by ACME Laboratories Ltd. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris in individuals aged 12 years and older. Clascoterone works by binding to androgen receptors on skin cells, thereby blocking the effects of androgens like dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that contribute to acne development through increased sebum production and inflammation. This mechanism helps reduce acne lesions and prevent new breakouts. The cream is applied twice daily to clean, dry skin, with a typical dosage of approximately 1 gram per application. Common side effects include erythema (redness), pruritus (itching), and dryness or scaling of the skin. Patients should avoid contact with mucous membranes and discontinue use if irritation persists. Safety and efficacy in children under 12 years have not been established.
