Feminor 5 mg Tablet is a synthetic progestin medication used to manage various menstrual disorders. It mimics the effects of the natural female hormone progesterone, helping to regulate the menstrual cycle and treat conditions such as endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and to postpone menstruation for specific reasons. The typical dosage varies based on the condition being treated: for endometriosis, 2 tablets daily starting from the 5th day of the menstrual cycle for 4–6 months; for menorrhagia, 1 tablet 2–3 times daily from the 19th to the 26th day of the cycle; for PMS, 2–3 tablets daily from the 19th to the 26th day; and to delay menstruation, 1 tablet 3 times daily starting 3 days before the expected onset of menstruation. Common side effects may include headache, nausea, breast tenderness, and mood changes. This medication should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding and is contraindicated in individuals with liver disease, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, or a history of blood clots.
