Description
Moxilin CV 375 mg Tablet, manufactured by ACME Laboratories Ltd., is a combination antibiotic that includes 250 mg of amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and 125 mg of clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate). Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from degradation by certain bacterial enzymes, thereby extending its spectrum of activity.
This combination is effective against a variety of bacterial infections, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, otitis media, bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections. The typical adult dosage is one 375 mg tablet every 8 hours, or as prescribed by a healthcare provider, depending on the severity and type of infection. It is recommended to take the tablet with food to enhance absorption and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.
