Azin 30 ml is a powder for oral suspension manufactured by ACME Laboratories Ltd., containing Azithromycin Dihydrate as its active ingredient. Upon reconstitution, each 5 ml of the suspension delivers 200 mg of Azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic known for its broad-spectrum activity against various bacterial pathogens.
Azithromycin exerts its antimicrobial effect by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis and halting bacterial growth. It demonstrates efficacy against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and Chlamydia trachomatis, among others.
