Description
Lulikil 20 gm cream is a topical antifungal medication containing 1% Luliconazole, developed by ACME Laboratories Ltd. It is primarily used to treat superficial fungal infections such as tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea corporis (ringworm) caused by dermatophytes like Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum. Luliconazole functions by inhibiting lanosterol demethylase, an enzyme crucial for ergosterol synthesis, leading to disruption of the fungal cell membrane and subsequent cell death. This mechanism provides potent and broad-spectrum antifungal activity. The recommended dosage involves applying a thin layer of the cream to the affected area and approximately 1 inch of the surrounding skin once daily. For tinea pedis, treatment typically lasts for two weeks; for tinea cruris and tinea corporis, one week of treatment is usually sufficient. Common side effects may include local skin reactions such as itching or redness. Lulikil should be used only for external application and is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Luliconazole.
