Uropass 0.4 mg Capsule is a modified-release formulation of Tamsulosin Hydrochloride, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist. It is specifically designed to treat the functional symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a condition characterized by an enlarged prostate gland leading to urinary difficulties.
Tamsulosin works by selectively blocking alpha-1A adrenoceptors in the prostate and bladder neck, leading to relaxation of smooth muscles in these areas. This action facilitates improved urine flow and alleviates symptoms such as difficulty in starting urination, weak stream, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently
