Pizo-A 1.5 mg is a prescription medication manufactured by ACME Laboratories Ltd., containing Pizotifen 1.5 mg. It is primarily used for the prophylactic treatment of recurrent vascular headaches, including classical migraine, common migraine, and cluster headaches.
Mechanism of Action:
Pizotifen acts as a serotonin antagonist, inhibiting the peripheral actions of serotonin and histamine, which are involved in increasing the permeability of cranial blood vessels. By blocking 5-HT receptors, it reduces the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.
Dosage & Administration:
