Phenadryl is an antihistamine syrup manufactured by ACME Laboratories Ltd., containing Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride. It is primarily used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic reactions and the common cold.
Indications:
Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
Urticaria and angioedema
Anaphylaxis
Pruritic conditions
Motion sickness and nausea
Meniere's disease and Parkinsonism
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: 25–50 mg three times daily, with an additional 50 mg at night.
Children 1 to 5 years: 5 mg (2.5 ml) four times daily.
Children over 6 years: 10 mg (5 ml) four times daily.
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
Avoid concurrent use with CNS depressants or anticholinergic drugs.
Side Effects:
Sedation, dizziness, tinnitus, fatigue, ataxia, blurred vision, diplopia, euphoria, and epigastric discomfort.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Classified as Category B for pregnancy.
Not recommended for lactating mothers due to potential excretion in breast milk.
Storage:
Store between 15–30°C.
