BILAN 50 ML is an oral solution containing Bilastine as its active ingredient. Bilastine is a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine used to treat allergic conditions such as seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and chronic urticaria (hives). It works by selectively blocking histamine H1 receptors, thereby alleviating symptoms like sneezing, itching, runny or blocked nose, and red or watery eyes. Bilastine has a high affinity for H1 receptors and does not significantly bind to other receptor types, minimizing side effects and making it suitable for long-term use.
BILAN 50 ML is produced by ACME Laboratories Ltd. in Bangladesh. Each 5 ml of the oral solution contains 12.5 mg of Bilastine, and the total volume per bottle is 50 ml. This formulation is particularly beneficial for children and individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets. The recommended dosage for children aged 2 to 11 years is 4 ml once daily, while adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over typically take 20 mg once daily, which corresponds to 8 ml of the oral solution. It's advisable to take Bilastine on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after meals, to ensure optimal absorption
