Indications:
ANREB PLUS 50/12.5 is indicated for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially in patients who require more than one medication for adequate control.
Pharmacology:
Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that helps reduce fluid retention by increasing urine output, further lowering blood pressure.
Dosage:

Usually taken once daily, orally, with or without food, as prescribed by the physician.

Dosage may be adjusted based on patient response and clinical need.
Administration:
Take at the same time each day for consistent blood levels. Swallow tablets whole with water.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, lithium, NSAIDs, and certain diabetes medications. Close monitoring and physician consultation are advised.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to losartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any excipients.

Severe renal impairment, anuria, hypersensitivity to sulfonamides, and pregnancy (especially 2nd and 3rd trimesters).
Side Effects:
Dizziness, headache, fatigue, increased urination, electrolyte imbalances (e.g., low potassium), muscle cramps, and rarely allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy due to risk of fetal harm. Use with caution during breastfeeding; consult your physician.
Therapeutic Class:
