Indications:
ARIPRAZOLE 5 MG is prescribed for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic or mixed episodes), and irritability in autistic disorder.
Pharmacology:
Aripiprazole works as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors and antagonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors, helping regulate neurotransmitter activity to improve mood and behavior.
Dosage:
Starting dose often 5 mg once daily; dose may be adjusted by physician based on patient response.
Maximum recommended dose is generally 30 mg per day.
Administration:
Take orally once daily, with or without food. Maintain consistent timing daily.
Interaction:
May interact with CNS depressants, antihypertensives, and CYP450 enzyme inhibitors or inducers. Always inform your doctor about other medicines you take.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to aripiprazole or formulation components.
