Indications:
HEXIPHEN 5 MG is indicated for treatment of allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial), chronic idiopathic urticaria, and other allergic conditions causing itching, sneezing, and rhinorrhea.

Pharmacology:
Levocetirizine is a selective H1 receptor antagonist that inhibits the effects of histamine in peripheral tissues, providing relief from allergy symptoms with less sedation compared to first-generation antihistamines.

Dosage:
The usual adult dose is 5 mg once daily, preferably in the evening. Dose adjustment may be required for patients with renal impairment.

Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Interaction:
May interact with CNS depressants and alcohol, increasing sedation. Inform your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to levocetirizine or any ingredient of the product. Use cautiously in renal impairment.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth, fatigue, and headache. Serious adverse effects are rare.
