Indications:
NEBIPRES 5MG is indicated for:
Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure).
Adjunctive therapy in stable mild to moderate chronic heart failure in patients over 70 years of age.
Pharmacology:
NEBIPRES 5MG contains Nebivolol, a selective β1-adrenergic receptor blocker. It works by:
Reducing heart rate and myocardial contractility.
Diminishing sympathetic nervous system activity.
Suppressing renin release.
Inducing vasodilation through nitric oxide release, leading to decreased peripheral vascular resistance.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults:
Hypertension: Start with 5 mg once daily; may increase to a maximum of 40 mg once daily if needed.
Chronic Heart Failure: Start with 1.25 mg once daily; may increase every 1–2 weeks if tolerated, up to a maximum of 10 mg once daily.
Elderly Patients:
Hypertension: Start with 2.5 mg once daily; may increase to 5 mg once daily if needed.
Chronic Heart Failure: Start with 1.25 mg once daily; may increase as tolerated.
Renal Impairment:
CrCl <30 mL/min: Start with 2.5 mg once daily; may increase to 5 mg once daily if needed.
Hepatic Impairment:
Moderate: Start with 2.5 mg once daily; increase cautiously.
Administration:
Take NEBIPRES 5MG orally, with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider.
Interaction:
Use caution when co-administering with:
CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g., quinidine, propafenone, fluoxetine, paroxetine).
Other β-blockers (e.g., nebivolol, propranolol).
Calcium channel blockers (e.g., verapamil, diltiazem).
Antiarrhythmic agents (e.g., disopyramide).
Digitalis glycosides.
Contraindications:
Do not use NEBIPRES 5MG if you have:
Severe bradycardia.
Heart block greater than first degree.
Cardiogenic shock.
Decompensated heart failure.
Sick sinus syndrome (unless a permanent pacemaker is in place).
Severe hepatic impairment.
Hypersensitivity to any component of this product.
Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:
Headache.
Nausea.
Bradycardia (slow heart rate).
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Category C. Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare provider.
Lactation: Not recommended during breastfeeding.
