BEPOGEN 5 ML is indicated for the treatment of:
Allergic conjunctivitis (both seasonal and perennial)
It relieves symptoms such as itching, redness, and watery eyes associated with ocular allergies.
Bepotastine is a second-generation antihistamine that works as a selective antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor. When applied topically to the eye, it inhibits the release of histamine and other mediators from mast cells, reducing allergic symptoms such as itching and inflammation.
Adults and children (3 years and older): One drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily.
The dosage should be maintained as advised by the physician depending on the severity of the condition.
Wash hands thoroughly before use.
Tilt the head back and instill one drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s).
Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
Contact lenses should be removed before application and may be reinserted after 10 minutes.
There are no significant systemic drug interactions due to its localized use in the eyes.
However, if using other ophthalmic products, administer them at least 5 minutes apart.
Hypersensitivity to Bepotastine or any component of the formulation.
Not recommended in patients with known allergic reactions to ophthalmic antihistamines.
Mild and temporary eye irritation
Headache
Unusual taste (bitter or metallic) after instillation
Eye redness or dryness (rare)
Pregnancy: Category C. Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
