Indications:
Rabemax 20 mg is indicated for:

Peptic Ulcer Disease:
- Treatment of duodenal and gastric ulcers.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD):
- Healing of erosive or ulcerative GERD.
- Treatment of symptomatic GERD.
- Maintenance of healing of erosive or ulcerative GERD.
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome:
- Treatment of pathological hypersecretion of gastric acid.
Helicobacter pylori Eradication:
- In combination with appropriate antibacterial therapy to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence.

Pharmacology:
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cells. This enzyme system is regarded as the acid (proton) pump within the parietal cell, making Rabeprazole an effective gastric proton-pump inhibitor.

Dosage & Administration:

Duodenal Ulcer:
- 20 mg orally once daily in the morning for 4 weeks.
Erosive or Ulcerative GERD:
- 20 mg orally once daily in the morning for 4 to 8 weeks.
Symptomatic GERD:
- 20 mg orally once daily in the morning.
Maintenance of Healing of Erosive or Ulcerative GERD:
- 10 or 20 mg orally once daily.
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome:
- Initially, 60 mg orally once daily, adjusted to a maximum dose of 120 mg/day if needed. Daily doses >100 mg should be given in 2 divided doses.
Helicobacter pylori Eradication:
- 20 mg orally twice daily in combination with appropriate antibacterial therapy for 7 days.
