Dexagen L is indicated for:

  • Prevention and treatment of inflammation and infection associated with cataract surgery in adults.

  • Levofloxacin: A third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, leading to bacterial cell death.

  • Dexamethasone: A corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by inhibiting phospholipase A2, decreasing the synthesis of prostaglandins, and suppressing the migration of leukocytes to the site of inflammation.

Dosage:

  • Adults: Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac every 6 hours for 7 days following cataract surgery.

Administration:

  • Wash hands thoroughly before use.

  • Tilt the head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch.

  • Hold the dropper above the eye and instill the prescribed number of drops.

  • Close the eye gently and press the inner corner to prevent drainage.

  • Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.

Interaction:

  • Inform your doctor if you are using other eye medications or have recently used any other medicines, including over-the-counter drugs.

  • Concurrent use with other ocular NSAIDs may increase the potential for healing problems in your eye.
