SECOCLAV 250 is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sinusitis, otitis media, and dental infections caused by β-lactamase-producing bacteria.
Pharmacology:
Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic Acid is a β-lactamase inhibitor that protects Amoxicillin from enzymatic degradation by resistant bacteria, thus broadening its spectrum of activity.

Children: Dose depends on body weight and infection severity (typically 20–40 mg/kg/day in divided doses).
Adults (if applicable): Usually not used in 250 mg form unless specific dosing is required.
Administration:
Administer orally with meals to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort. Shake the dry syrup well before use and follow physician’s instructions carefully. Ensure full course completion even if symptoms improve.

May interact with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), methotrexate, and allopurinol. Reduces efficacy of oral contraceptives. Always inform your doctor of any concurrent medications.
