Indications:

Deleta 10 mg is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Apathy

  • Psychogenic depression

  • Depressive neuroses

  • Masked depression

  • Psychosomatic disorders accompanied by anxiety and apathy

  • Menopausal depression

  • Dysphoria and depression in alcoholics and drug addicts

Pharmacology:

  • Flupentixol: A neuroleptic that blocks postsynaptic dopamine receptors in the CNS, exhibiting anxiolytic and antidepressant properties at low doses.

  • Melitracen: A tricyclic antidepressant with activating properties at low doses, enhancing the effects of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain.

  • The combination of Flupentixol and Melitracen provides a synergistic effect, addressing both depressive and anxiety symptoms.

Dosage:

  • Adults: Typically, 2 tablets daily (1 in the morning and 1 at noon). In severe cases, the morning dose may be increased to 2 tablets.

  • Elderly patients: 1 tablet in the morning.

  • Maintenance dose: Usually, 1 tablet in the morning. In cases of insomnia or severe restlessness, additional treatment with a sedative in the acute phase is recommended.

Administration:

Take Deleta 10 mg tablets orally with meals to enhance absorption. Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew or crush.

Interaction:

  • May potentiate the effects of alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants.

  • Concurrent use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) may cause hypertensive crises.

  • May reduce the antihypertensive effect of guanethidine and similar acting compounds.

  • Thymoleptics may enhance the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline.

Contraindications:

  • Immediate recovery phase after myocardial infarction.

  • Defects in bundle-branch conduction.

  • Untreated narrow-angle glaucoma.

  • Acute alcohol, barbiturate, and opiate intoxications.

  • Patients who have received an MAO inhibitor within the last two weeks.

  • Not recommended for excitable or overactive patients due to its activating effect.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

  • Drowsiness

  • Dry mouth

  • Constipation

  • Dizziness

  • Weight gain

  • Increased sweating

Less common side effects may include:

  • Orthostatic hypotension

  • Restlessness
