Indications:
VORICON 50 MG is indicated for treatment of invasive fungal infections such as aspergillosis, candidemia, and infections caused by rare fungi.
Pharmacology:
Voriconazole is a triazole antifungal agent that inhibits 14α-sterol demethylase, disrupting fungal cell membrane synthesis and leading to fungal cell death.
Dosage:
Typical dosage is 50 mg orally every 12 hours or as directed by a physician depending on infection severity.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Follow prescribed dose strictly.
Interaction:
May interact with drugs such as rifampicin, carbamazepine, and certain statins. Inform healthcare provider about all medicines.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients allergic to voriconazole or other azole antifungals.
