DOMILIN 10 MG is indicated for relief from nausea and vomiting caused by gastrointestinal disorders, delayed gastric emptying, and to improve gastric motility.
Pharmacology:
Domperidone is a dopamine receptor antagonist that increases the movements or contractions of the stomach and intestines, promoting faster gastric emptying and preventing nausea.
Dosage:
Usually, 10 mg taken 3 times daily before meals, or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
Take orally with a glass of water, preferably 15-30 minutes before meals.
Interaction:
May interact with medications such as ketoconazole, erythromycin, and other drugs affecting the liver enzyme CYP3A4. Inform your doctor about all other medications.
Contraindications:
Not suitable for patients with prolactinoma, severe liver impairment, or known hypersensitivity to domperidone.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dry mouth, abdominal cramps, dizziness, and headache. Serious side effects like irregular heartbeat should be reported immediately.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.
