Indications:

Temporary relief of burning, irritation, and discomfort due to dryness of the eye or exposure to wind or sun.
Lubrication and protection of the eye in conditions such as exposure keratitis, decreased corneal sensitivity, recurrent corneal erosions, keratitis sicca, and post-ocular surgery.

Pharmacology:

White Soft Paraffin (57.3%): Forms a protective layer on the eye surface, reducing moisture loss.
Liquid Paraffin (42.5%): Provides lubrication, alleviating dryness and irritation.
Wool Alcohol (0.2%): Enhances the viscosity of the ointment, ensuring prolonged contact with the eye surface.

Dosage & Administration:

Adult Dose: Apply a small amount of ointment (approximately one-fourth inch) into the lower conjunctival sac of the affected eye at bedtime.
Pediatric Dose: Consult a pediatrician before use.

Administration:

Wash hands thoroughly before application.
Tilt the head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
Squeeze a small amount of ointment into the pocket.
Close the eye and blink a few times to spread the ointment evenly.
Reapply as directed by a healthcare professional.

Interaction:

No significant drug interactions reported. However, avoid using other eye medications simultaneously unless advised by a healthcare provider.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any component of the ointment.
Not recommended for use with contact lenses; remove lenses before application.

Side Effects:

Temporary blurred vision immediately after application.
Mild eye irritation or discomfort.
