Indications:
MITRAZINE 7.5 MG is indicated for treatment of major depressive disorder, anxiety, and related mood disorders.

Pharmacology:
Mirtazapine works by blocking central presynaptic alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, increasing release of norepinephrine and serotonin to improve mood.

Dosage:
Usually started at 7.5 mg once daily, preferably at bedtime. Dose may be increased gradually by the physician as needed.

Administration:
Take orally at bedtime to reduce daytime sedation.

Interaction:
May interact with MAO inhibitors, SSRIs, CNS depressants, alcohol, and other medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all drugs.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to mirtazapine, use with MAO inhibitors within 14 days.

Side Effects:
Drowsiness, increased appetite, weight gain, dry mouth, dizziness, constipation.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if benefits outweigh risks; consult your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Therapeutic Class:
Antidepressant, noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA).
