Relafin 50 mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of:
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Major Depressive Disorder (Depression)
Panic Disorder
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Social Anxiety Disorder
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Pharmacology:
Fluvoxamine Maleate is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the brain, thereby increasing serotonin levels, which helps in improving mood and reducing anxiety.
Dosage:
Adults:
OCD: Start with 50 mg once daily in the evening. May increase by 50 mg every 4-7 days, up to a maximum of 300 mg daily.
Depression: Start with 50-100 mg daily, may increase up to 300 mg daily if necessary.
Children (8 years and older):
OCD: Start with 25 mg once daily, may increase by 25 mg every 4-7 days, up to a maximum of 200 mg daily.
Administration:
Take Relafin 50 mg Tablet orally, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew or crush. It is recommended to take the medication at the same time each day to help remember.
Interaction:
Avoid concurrent use with:
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Thioridazine
Terfenadine
Astemizole
Cisapride
Pimozide
Alosetron
Tizanidine
Alcohol
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to fluvoxamine or any component of the formulation.
Concurrent use with MAOIs or within 14 days of stopping an MAOI.
Use during breastfeeding.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Category C. Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Lactation: Fluvoxamine is excreted in breast milk. Use with caution and consult a doctor before breastfeeding.
