Description
Amlovas VS 10/160 Tablet is a fixed-dose combination therapy for hypertension, combining Amlodipine Besilate and Valsartan. Amlodipine works by inhibiting calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Valsartan blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, thereby relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. This combination therapy is indicated for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either Amlodipine or Valsartan alone. The typical starting dose is one tablet once daily, which can be adjusted based on individual patient response. It's important to note that this combination is not recommended for initial therapy in hypertension and should be used under medical supervision
