Description
Betacor HZ 2.5/6.25 mg is a combination antihypertensive medication manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd. It contains two active ingredients: Bisoprolol Fumarate (2.5 mg) and Hydrochlorothiazide (6.25 mg). Bisoprolol is a selective beta₁-blocker that reduces heart rate and myocardial contractility, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that increases the excretion of sodium and chloride, leading to reduced blood volume and further lowering of blood pressure. Together, these agents provide an additive antihypertensive effect, making Betacor HZ effective in managing high blood pressure.
