Description
LOTONOL G 5 ML is an ophthalmic suspension that combines Loteprednol Etabonate 0.5% and Gatifloxacin 0.3% to address both inflammation and bacterial infection in the eyes. The corticosteroid, Loteprednol Etabonate, works by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing swelling and discomfort. Gatifloxacin, the antibiotic component, acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, effectively combating bacterial infections. This combination is particularly useful in treating conditions like allergic conjunctivitis, acne rosacea, and various forms of keratitis, as well as managing post-operative inflammation. The standard dosage involves instilling 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4–6 hours, with adjustments based on clinical response. Patients are advised to follow the prescribed regimen and consult their healthcare provider if symptoms persist or worsen.
