Description
LOTONOL GEL 0.5% is an ophthalmic gel formulated with Loteprednol Etabonate, a corticosteroid that acts by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing inflammation in the eyes. It is primarily used to treat post-operative inflammation and pain following ocular surgery. Additionally, it is effective in managing various steroid-responsive inflammatory conditions affecting the eye, including allergic conjunctivitis, acne rosacea, and iritis. The standard dosage involves instilling one to two drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye four times daily, beginning the day after surgery and continuing throughout the first two weeks of the post-operative period. Patients are advised to follow the prescribed dosage and consult their healthcare provider if symptoms persist or worsen.
