Anzet 0.5 mg + 10 mg Tablet is a psychotropic medication used to treat various conditions such as anxiety, depression, apathy, and related disorders. Flupentixol, a neuroleptic, acts by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain, providing antipsychotic effects. Melitracen, a tricyclic antidepressant, enhances mood by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. Together, they offer combined anxiolytic and antidepressant properties. The typical dosage for adults is 2 tablets daily, taken in the morning and at noon. In severe cases, the morning dose may be increased to 2 tablets. For elderly patients, 1 tablet in the morning is usually sufficient. Maintenance doses are typically 1 tablet in the morning. In cases of insomnia or severe restlessness, additional treatment with a sedative may be recommended during the acute phase. Common side effects include transient restlessness and insomnia. Precautions include avoiding alcohol and CNS depressants during treatment. This medication is contraindicated in patients recovering from myocardial infarction, those with untreated narrow-angle glaucoma, and those who have recently used MAO inhibitors. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use this medication only if the potential benefits justify the potential risks to the fetus or infant.
