Description
Olmevas 20 mg is a medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used primarily to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults. By blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict, Olmesartan helps relax blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems. The typical starting dose is 10 mg once daily, which may be increased to 20 mg once daily if necessary. If additional blood pressure reduction is required, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 40 mg daily. The antihypertensive effect is usually evident within 2 weeks, with the maximum effect observed after about 8 weeks of therapy.
