Description
Kidopia 5 ml is a pediatric ophthalmic solution formulated with Atropine Sulfate 0.01%, designed to slow the progression of myopia in children aged 4 to 14 years. The exact mechanism of action involves the inhibition of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in ocular tissues, leading to changes in cell signaling and a reduction in axial length and vitreous chamber depth, thereby suppressing myopia progression. The recommended dosage is one drop in each eye at night, with treatment duration typically extending over a period of at least two years to achieve maximum benefit. To minimize systemic absorption, gentle pressure should be applied to the tear duct for one minute after application. Kidopia is contraindicated in children under 4 years of age and should be used with caution in those with Down’s syndrome, spastic paralysis, or brain damage. Regular eye health reviews are recommended during long-term treatment.
