TORAMAX 10 MG is used to treat pain, inflammation, and swelling in conditions such as:
Arthritis (Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis)
Musculoskeletal disorders
Other inflammatory conditions where pain relief and reduction of swelling are required.
It is primarily indicated for symptomatic relief in inflammatory conditions, but should be used under medical supervision due to its potential side effects.
TORAMAX 10 MG contains Torsemide, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Torsemide works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, particularly COX-2, which are involved in the production of prostaglandins that cause pain, fever, and inflammation. By blocking the production of these chemicals, Torsemide helps reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and reduce swelling.
Adults: The usual starting dose is 10 mg once daily.
Maximum dose: Depending on the severity of the condition, the dose may be adjusted to 20 mg or more as prescribed by the doctor.
Children: Dosage should be determined by a pediatrician.
Always follow the doctor's prescribed dosage and do not self-adjust the dosage.
TORAMAX 10 MG should be taken orally with a glass of water.
It can be taken with or without food.
Take at the same time each day for consistent therapeutic effect.
TORAMAX 10 MG may interact with other NSAIDs, blood thinners (anticoagulants), and diuretics.
It may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when taken with other NSAIDs.
ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) may increase the risk of kidney problems when taken with TORAMAX.
Always inform your healthcare provider about other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and herbal products.
Hypersensitivity to Torsemide or other NSAIDs.
Active gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulcer disease.
Severe liver or kidney dysfunction.
History of asthma or allergic reactions to NSAIDs should be considered before prescribing TORAMAX.
Common side effects include:
Upset stomach
Nausea
Headache
Dizziness
Swelling or fluid retention
Serious side effects:
Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers
Kidney damage or dysfunction
Liver dysfunction
Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)
If you experience any of these serious side effects, contact your doctor immediately.
Pregnancy: TORAMAX 10 MG should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefits justify the risks. It is generally avoided in the third trimester due to the risk of premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus.
Lactation: It is not known whether Torsemide is excreted in breast milk. It is advised to consult with a healthcare provider before using this medication during breastfeeding.
