TIBO 2.5 MG is primarily indicated for the management of muscle spasticity associated with conditions like:
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Spinal Cord Injury
It is also used to relieve muscle spasms and associated discomfort that result from these conditions, providing relief from muscle stiffness, pain, and cramping.
TIBO 2.5 MG contains Tizanidine, a centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. Tizanidine works by inhibiting the release of excitatory neurotransmitters, thereby reducing the firing of nerve impulses responsible for muscle contraction. This results in muscle relaxation, which helps reduce spasticity and improves mobility in patients suffering from neurological conditions like MS and spinal cord injury.
The usual starting dose is 2 mg once or twice a day, and it can be gradually increased based on response and tolerance.
Typical dose range: 2.5–10 mg per day, divided into 1 to 3 doses.
Maximum daily dose: 36 mg, depending on individual tolerance and medical supervision.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions for dosage and frequency to avoid potential side effects or complications.
Take TIBO 2.5 MG orally, with or without food.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not chew, crush, or split the tablet.
Caution with sedatives or other CNS depressants, as these may increase the sedative effects of Tizanidine.
Fluvoxamine and certain other medications can increase Tizanidine levels in the blood.
Avoid combining with antihypertensives as Tizanidine may lower blood pressure.
Always inform your healthcare provider about any other medications or supplements you are taking.
Severe liver impairment or hepatic disease.
Known hypersensitivity to Tizanidine or any of its components.
Should not be used with fluvoxamine or other strong inhibitors of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) due to potential drug interactions.
