Description
tolux 50 mg Tablet is a gastrointestinal medication manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh. Its active ingredient, Itopride Hydrochloride, is a prokinetic agent that works by increasing acetylcholine levels in the gastrointestinal tract. This action enhances gastric motility, accelerates gastric emptying, and improves coordination between the stomach and duodenum, making it effective in treating symptoms associated with chronic gastritis. These symptoms include bloating, upper abdominal pain, loss of appetite, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting. The typical dosage for adults is 50 mg taken orally three times daily before meals. However, the dosage may be adjusted based on the patient's age and symptoms. Itolux is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Caution is advised when co-administering Itolux with anticholinergic drugs, as they may reduce its effectiveness. Patients with hypersensitivity to Itopride Hydrochloride or any of its components should avoid using this medication. Additionally, Itolux is contraindicated in individuals with conditions where increased gastrointestinal motility could be harmful, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation. Itolux should be stored below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from light, and out of reach of children.
